"Live For Today" is an early taste of new Boysetsfire material to be released in the early part of next year. The new EP opens with the track "Release The Dogs". With a quick snare, a smooth bassline, and aggressive vocal jolts, the EP opens at a high point. The song gives lead vocalist Nathan Gray a chance to explore his different vocal levels. From barbaric screams to high pitched choral croons, "Release The Dogs" is a fantastic song all the way through.
"Bathorys Sainthood", the second song on "Live For Today" opens with a baseline that sounds like it could come from a Tool record and soft vocals that much remind me of Edward Kowalczyk of the band Live. Upon hearing the song, thats what first came to mind. "Curtain Call", the final studio song, is fast and makes you want to move.
The EP closes with 3 live songs from previous Boysetsfire releases, including 2 from the "After The Eulogy" release. "After The Eulogy" and "Rookie", also to be found on this EP is "Handful of Redemption", a song that can be found on the upcoming "Tomorrow Come Today" release.
